This is my miniature Burton Store which I made for my Product Design & Technology class in school, for my AS Level exams this year. Main criteria included finding a crappy boring old building and totaly redesigning the whole place and its purpose, then building a scale modle of it. I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable subjects ever!
Measurements: 110cm long / 60cm wide / 40 cm high Materials: Compressed Polystyrene (Boards & Bindings) / MDF (main structure & most of the furniture) / Clear Acrylic Plastic (Signage & Entrance, Floor tiles & used also in furniture) / Felt & Leather (Gloves, Socks, Binding straps, Stomp Pads, Extra Laces, Detailing on boots) / Clay: Boots. (Some other minor materials include Plywood, Photo paper, Paper based graphics, Candle wax, Double Sided Tape, lots of PVA! & Thread)
There is minor circuitry involved in some of the furniture, including the Counter Top, the Bindings Display, the Magazine Rack & theres a tiny L.E.D. implanted in the computer - all work.
Started building in Jan, finished mid May (also included 2 pre-build design folders)
damn nice, mustve been a lotta work with the little accessories ...

To help inspire you this month, #project-improve and #ProjectComment have joined creative and collaborative forces to bring you 'An Image Is Worth A Thousand Words' Contest.
The theme of this contest is pretty much as the title states; we would like you to draw on inspiration for a piece of literature that coincides with an image of your choice. The extent of the involvement of the image is entirely up to you.
Both visual artists and writers can take part, so please read the article to find out more!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
A city is a place where there is no need to wait for next week to get the answer to a question, to taste the food of any country, to find new voices to listen to and familiar ones to listen to again.
If you're looking for a deviant to brighten up your day, look no further than `JurgenDoe. Jurgen's infectious enthusiasm and passion for deviantART is evident in all areas. His generous community spirit and positive energy have earned him a reputation within our community as being someone who is a role model to us all. Jurgen's eclectic gallery gives you a glimpse into his vibrant personality, and shows that he's not just good at cooking up a storm in the kitchen, but that he's always prepared to throw some devious spices into his artistic endeavours. So with a dash of hooray and a heaped spoonful of congratulations, we are delighted to present the Deviou... Read More
